Sri Kedareshwara Temple, Devarahalli
A village Shiva temple in Karnataka, built by the villagers themselves about seventy years ago — verified in person by Temple Stories.
The story
This temple was raised by the village's grandparents nearly seventy years ago, after one good harvest — the founding stone carries thirty-two farmers' names. Pandit Raghavendra Shastri, now 68, has opened its doors at every dawn and dusk for more than thirty years without missing a single day.
Today the mandapa roof leaks through rusted sheets, the sanctum door is failing, and the temple's small donation box — coins and a few ten-rupee notes — is "enough for flowers, not for a roof."
